As the issue of mental health for international students continues to make headlines, findings from our Emerging Futures II survey have taken on an urgent resonance because they shine a light on the issue across the globe.
IDP Connect CEO Simon Emmett reflects on our Emerging Futures II research, which highlights a number of themes relating to the mental health of international students; most notably perhaps that while 72% of current students said poor mental health had affected their studies in some way, 78% of students said the support they received for their mental health issues had been highly effective.
As champions for student welfare, IDP regularly asks international students to share their experiences of studying abroad and the data helps us assist institutions and sector colleagues in providing the types of support that can make a positive difference.
